SHARED PORTHMEOR RESIDENCY OPPORTUNITY!

Artist Lisa Pettibone is seeking a recent graduate based in Cornwall whose practice would complement hers, to join her in a joint residency at Porthmeor Studios this year. Please see Lisa's biography and further details below, and contact her directly for more details:

"Born in California and based in Surrey, I am a visual artist working in sculpture, installation and print. Expressing concepts related to gravity, tension, form and light, I investigate the nature of human perception through the lens of science. Using a variety of materials, including the unique qualities of glass, I aim to evoke direct sensory experiences that connect people to their environment.

For the Porthmeor residency I’d be interested in working alongside an artist interested in natural forces, light, astronomy, geology or perception - any medium including painting, sculpture, photography or film. Based at Porthmeor Studios St Ives it’s supported by the Freelands Foundation, artists must be within 10 years of their degree. It’s for two two-week sessions between Sept and Nov and comes with accommodation and a £2000 stipend (each). Deadline is 9 Feb. Contact me at studio@pettibone.co.uk

We have recently had a survey done on the gallery roofs after noticing some sizeable damage, and they are in desperate need of repair. Members, Associates and staff have all come together to donate pieces of work for a fundraising extravaganza in order to keep our beloved gallery open and thriving.
